Change to winter time on October 24th

It is that time of the year again when the clocks and watches are set behind in Paris by one hour to adjust for winter time. This also means one more hour for partying, sleeping or relaxing for most of us.

On the night between Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th, the time will be changed at 03:00 AM (summer time). It will be 02:00 AM winter time. Some bars in the areas of Saint-Michel, Bastille, Buttes aux cailles etc. will be open up to 03:00 AM (summer time).

In France, the change of time was instituted in 1975 in order to save electricity. Since 1998, the summer time change is done on the last Sunday of March at 02:00 AM (night between Saturday and Sunday) and winter time change is done on the last Sunday of October at 03:00 AM (night between Saturday and Sunday)
