India is the country of honour at 19th Cinérail Festival

Festival Cinérail explores the dimension of cinematic arts related to the railways. For its 19th edition this year and its 6th year in Paris, the Festival has chosen India as the country of honour.


Festival Cinérail 19th Edition


India has one of the largest rail networks in the world and one of the most prolific cinematic industry. It is only natural that India should be represented at a festival that celebrates both these dimensions. Vijay Singh, author- screenwriter-film maker who has been based in Paris for more than 20 years is the president of the jury.


Iconic Indian films such as Sholay, Dil Se, Apur Sansar, Darpan ke Peeche, Parineeta, Train to Pakistan, Swaham and Saathiya will be shown along with films by Western film makers that showcase India such as Gandhi,  Nocturne Indien and La Route des Indes. Other films will compete in the categories of International competition for short fictions and documentary films.


Tariff for a single entry is 3€; Day Pass is 10€; Short Films Pass is at 15€ et Pass for whole programme is at 25€, available from March 3rd onwards at the cash counter of the following address. All participating films (except opening and closing ceremonies) will be screened at Reflet Medicis Cinema.
