ESTA fees of $14 for Travellers from France to the USA

Starting 8th September 2010, all the travellers for USA bound flight or ship need to pay an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) fees of 14$. As per a press release by the American Embassy in France, the travellers from Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries, including France, will need to pay an ESTA fees of 14$ set by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

ESTA has been mandatory since 12th January 2009. ESTA applications may be submitted at any time prior to travel. Once approved, authorisations are generally valid for multiple entries into the U.S. for up to two years or until the applicant’s passport expires. Travelers with an ESTA approved before September 8 will not need to pay the ESTA fees when updating an ESTA application. However, travelers with new passports and re-applying for an ESTA will need to pay the ESTA fees.
