Paris offers help for foreign students

Come September and it is time for various Parisian universities, colleges, technical institutions and schools to reopen for a new academic session. If you are a foreign student arriving in Paris and need help, the city has set-up two dedicated help desks from September 6th-December 10th, 2010.


The Paris city help desks for foreign students will answer questions on various aspects of living, studying and enjoying Paris whether it is the administrative papers or to find how to use the public transport system etc. The service will be multi-lingual  (English, Spanish, Chinese, German, Russian, Arabic,....). These two help desks are at the Cité International Universitaire de Paris (CIUP) located in the 14th district of Paris and at Crous de Paris in the 5th district.


In addition, at the Cité Internationale, information on various complementary subjects such as on visa, titre de séjour (temporary resident permit), its renewal, finding a place to stay with the help of CAF (Caisse d’allocations familiales), working, finding a job for foreign students, changing the status from student to salaried persons, rules pertaining to the same etc. will also be available.


The help desks (Services d’accueil) will be open from September 6th-December 10th, 2010 from 08:30 AM- 04:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
