A total of 5 players representing India are present at the Roland Garros this year- Prakash Amritraj and Somdev Devvarman in Men's Singles; Mahesh Bhupathi and Leader Paes in Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles and Rohan Bopanna in Men's Doubles.

Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathy are not new to Paris as they have played at the French Open in Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles events over years. They rewrote Indian tennis history and made India proud in 1999 and once again, in 2001 by winning the Men's Doubles trophy at the French Open.

For Leander Paes, 2009 had been a spectacular year for with the Men's Doubles championship at the French Open for the third time and at the US Open. This year at the French Open, he has made it to the Men's Doubles 3rd round with his team mate Lukas Diouhy from the Czech Republic by beating Swiss Yves Allegro and German Andreas Beck 6-4, (3-6), 6-3.

Like Leander Paes, 2009 has been a particularly good year for Mahesh Bhupathy too as he contested as the finalist at the Australian and US Open; Quarter-finals at the Wimbledon and 3rd round at the French Open for the Men's doubles title. At French Open 2010, however, his winning streak did not continue past 2nd round where his team with Belarussian Max Mimyi was defeated by the Spanish team of Marc Lopez and Pere Riba by 6-4, 7-6. In Mixed Double 1st round, American Butorac and Taiwanese Yung-Jan Chang held sway over Bhupathy and his team mate American Liezel by 6-1, 6-4.

Bangalore based Rohan Bopanna has been making it to the 1st round of Men's Doubles at the French Open since 2008. This year, in the first round, his pairing with Pakistani Alsam-Ul-Haq Qureshi beat Italian Fabio Fongini and American Michael Russell by 6-2, 6-3.

25 year old Somdev Devvarman, originally from Assam, now based in USA, contested his first qualification for Men's Singles this year at the French Open. He best grand slam performance so far is 2nd round at the 2010 Australian Open and 1st round at the Wimbledon in Men's Doubles title.

Competing for the first time at the French Open this year like Somdev Devarrman, Prakash Amritraj, based in California, USA represented India. He was defeated in the qualifications by Joao Souza. His best grand slam results are 3rd round in Wimbledon 2009 and 2nd round in Australian Open 2010.
