Italian fashion connection between India and Paris

Hand-bag designer Corto Moltedo is in India from February 19th, 2010 onwards for a trunk show in Mumbai and Delhi.

Corto was born to parents Italian Laura and Vittorio Moltedo who were the founders of the luxury lable Bottega Veneta that makes signature leather goods, including handbags, luggage and leather wallets. The brand was sold to Gucci group in 2001. Corto grew up in New York but maintained his family tradition and know-how of leather goods. He started his lable 'Corto Moltedo' in 2004. His signature line of hand-bags, clutches, purses are singularly crafted in his workshop in Florence. With attention to detail, each bag is airbrushed with the customer's name to add to the touch of exclusivity. His signature boutique is a stone's throw from the Louvre Museum.

On his India connection, this is what Moltedo had to say as per a report in the Indian Express on line edition, “I’ve never been here before, but I know that Indians love colour and fashion. If they like what they see, they can come to my store in Paris and pick up something else too,”
