Candidature for Artistic Projects at Musée du Quai Branly

Musée du Quai Branly (Museum of Quai Branly) is inviting candidature for its 'Projects of Artistic Creation' from non-European contemporary artists working in the field of photography.

Musée du Quai Branly (MQB) is a museum, a cultural centre and a place for research and teaching, all at the same time. Its slogan is « là où dialoguent les cultures » or « where the cultures dialogue». This slogan orients the actions of the museum in all its domains of activities such as cultural programs, dissemination and sharing of knowledge and know-how, international co-operation etc. With this philosophy in spirit, the museum is bringing to forefront 'extra-European' cultures.

Created in 2008, the 'Projects for the Artistic Creations' (Projets de création artistique) is a way to bring value to the contemporary creation from four continents (Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas), particularly in the domain of photography. Each year, the program allows a non-European artist photographer to propose a creative project linked to the mission of the museum at Paris, and in the continuity of their works. The project is supported by the 'Fondation Total'.

In 2009, Indian photographer Pablo Batholomew ("Les Indiens de France - un dialogue interculturel") and Taiwanese photographer Wayne Liu (The Go-Between) were chosen for the projects. This year the last date of submission of the candidature is April 15th, 2010. The form for applying is available on the Museum's website. Click here for the form in French. Duly filled-in forms may be submitted on line to projets-creation(at)quaibranly.fr or by mail to:
