India is the country of honour at the parade of French National Day July 14th, 2009

France celebrates its national day on July 14th, 2009. India is the country of honour at the annual military parade held on this day. Starting at 08:45 AM on the Champs-Elysées, the national army will parade and the patrol of France, parachutes etc. will do an air-show. 

14th July marks the anniversary of the French revolution (1789-1799), which saw the monarchy overthrown, and upholds the values of the French republic.

450 Indian soldiers in their national uniforms, from army, navy and air force, will also participate. Cavalry Regiment will do the show for the closing ceremony.

The parade will be telecast on National channels.

The program for the evening includes a Free concert by Johnny Hallyday followed by Fireworks at the Eiffel Tower.
