Ministry of Culture and Communication has put together an on line directory of art and cultural institutions and services in different areas be it architecture, decorative arts, cinema, dance, literature, music, photography, theatre, painting or sculptur where one will be able to find commentary on more than 4000 works of art.


This directory is aimed at helping the students in their pedagogic research on works of art from different domains. A 'search result' will lead the students to different sites that have made the respective information available online for pedagogic use.

Digital library for children

As the schools and other education institutions around France open for the new academic year, the National French Library (Bibliothèque Nationale de France- BNF) has inaugurated a digital library dedicated to children. The library is doted with a reading room, rare books in e-format, a curiosity cupboard and a playing room, among other features.

ESTA fees of $14 for Travellers from France to the USA

Starting 8th September 2010, all the travellers for USA bound flight or ship need to pay an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) fees of 14$. As per a press release by the American Embassy in France, the travellers from Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries, including France, will need to pay an ESTA fees of 14$ set by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

New Tariff For School Canteens in 2010

The city of Paris has taken measures to better its canteen services offered at the municipal schools and colleges. Given the existing disparity in canteen tariffs depending on the district of Paris, the city council voted on 11th May 2010 to favour a tariff system more regulated and homogeneous across its various districts. However, 5 districts (6th, 8th, 15th, 16th & 17th) have boycotted the regulation and will continue their existing structure.

Paris offers help for foreign students

Come September and it is time for various Parisian universities, colleges, technical institutions and schools to reopen for a new academic session. If you are a foreign student arriving in Paris and need help, the city has set-up two dedicated help desks from September 6th-December 10th, 2010.
