Circuses in Paris from October '09- March '10

 

For the pleasure of the young and the old alike, Paris city has various offers for those looking for entertainment of circus - Circus Phenix- Peking Circus, Circus Alexis Gruss, Circus Arlette Gruss and Circus Romanès to name a few.

 

Some of these circuses have evolved their spectacle as an art where acrobats perform complex, breathtaking numbers. Phenix circus will have artists from Circus of Peking for this season and their show is aptly titled 'Li Ya- the Emperor's daughter'. Other circus have more 'classic' shows with animals, clowns and other artists.

 

The show timings vary in different circuses though most of them have at least one show on all days during school vacations* (Christmas and subsequently Winter vacations). Other than the vacation period, there are shows on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the circus season from October last week right up to March beginning. Keeping the principal audience of families with children in mind, the shows are slotted the afternoon or early evening. The season will end with the beginning of the school session after Winter vacations in Paris region.

 

Ticket prices vary from 15‚ā¨-120‚ā¨ depending on the day, date, circus and type of show. The most expensive shows are reserved for the nights of Christmas and New Year's eve.

*Christmas vacations in municipal schools in Paris region is from Saturday, December  19th- Monday, January 4th, 2010 and the Winter vacations are from Saturday, February 20th- Monday, March 8th, 2010.
