Indians in Paris Spin-Your-Yarn Contest Rules and Conditions

This contest is organized by Indians in Paris, hereafter referred to as IIP. Here are the general rules and conditions.

1) The contest is open to all persons above 18 years of age irrespective of their nationalities. The contestants do not have to be a member of IIP or related websites. The contest is free of charge and without any obligation to purchase.

3) All correct entries will be eligible. IIP will decide the winners. The winners will be informed by e-mail. On reception of the mail, the winners should be able to provide a correct postal address in order to receive the prize. In case of the absence of correspondence from the winner within 2 days following the closing of the contest and subsequent demand of postal address, next winner shall be drawn from the lot. If the winner refuses to accept the prize, the next winner shall be decided and contacted. The Substitute Winner will be contacted as mentioned above and required to comply with the prizes awarding process.

4) By submitting an entry to the contest, you are bound by these Official Rules and Conditions and accept and agree to be contacted by Indians in Paris in the event of winning the contest.

5) The use of copyrighted material or trademarks NOT owned by yourself is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Your submission must not infringe any patent, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right, or any privacy, publicity or publishing rights of any third party, or be libellous, obscene or otherwise contrary to law.

6) Any personal information given to IIP when you enter this Contest will only be used by IIP to contact you in relation to this Contest. Personal information concerning non-winning entries will be deleted after the end of the Contest. The personal information concerning the winning entries will be only used in the context of this Contest. This information will not be disclosed to any third party. 7) All entries must be received via email prior to 11:59 PM (Paris time), Thursday, March 31st, 2011 (the "Contest Conclusion") and must be in English. Entries which do not conform to these Official Rules and Conditions will not be accepted. The Contestants can send any number of entries. Each separate entry shall comply with the same rules and regulations.

8) IIP is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, incorrect, unintelligible or misdirected entries, which will be void. Use of a false name, mailing address, or email account will disqualify an entry and the individual who submitted the entry. Use of obscenities, racist, sexist, hateful or other material or depictions that, in IIP's judgement, are inappropriate or offensive, will disqualify an entry. IIP is not responsible for hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, server unavailability due to technical, capacity constraints or other issues, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic or other communications. IIP, in its sole discretion, can disqualify, from this Contest and/or any other contest conducted by IIP, any person who, in IIP's reasonable suspicion, tampers with the entry process or the operation of the web site. IIP has the right to terminate, suspend or modify this Contest, in whole or in part, at any time and without prior notice, if, in IIP's judgement, the Contest is altered, corrupted or cannot be completed as planned due to computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, or other conditions beyond their control, or at their reasonable discretion. Incomplete entries are invalid, and entrants with incomplete entries will be disqualified. IIP is not liable for any event or incident that may prevent the event/ show from happening and/ or damages or demand of compensation arising out of it.

9) Prize description: There are three prizes. Each prize is an autographed book 'The Fine Print and Other Yarns' by Dinesh Verma.

10) Three (3) winning entries will each win the book. The prize will be sent to each winner by post after the receipt of their valid postal address by IIP.

11) The prize can not be sold or exchanged for cash/ kind by IIP. No substitution of the prize for cash or other goods and services is permitted,

12) The participants and the winner waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. You assume sole liability for injuries, including personal injuries and/or damage to property or prize, caused or claimed to be caused by participating in this contest or the acceptance, loss, shipment, or use of any prize awarded. IIP is not responsible for any failure to contact entrants, whether due to technical or human error. All of IIP's decisions regarding the application and interpretation of the Rules are final.

13) Subject to the foregoing, IIP shall not be responsible for any liability, loss, damage, cost or expense sustained by you arising out of, or in connection, with your entry into this Contest or use of the prize.

14) Should any condition contained in this Contract prove unenforceable, void or incomplete, the validity of the other conditions will remain unaffected.

15) IIP can publish the contest entries on the IIP site in any way appropriate to the contents of the website IIP. Such rights are granted exclusively to IIP, for the duration of the copyright on the entries and worldwide. The participants waive any claim for any financial or other compensation for the publication of such entries. The entries will be for the exclusive use of IIP.
