This month the accent is on Yves Saint Laurent as the exhibition 'The Last Maharajas' continues at the Foundation Pierre-Bergé Yves Saint Laurent. Inspired, we give you an insider's look in the royal Indian costumes in When YSL meets the Maharajas and The Models. A retrospective of YSL's works will be on at the Petit Palais under the patronage of the First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. There would be activities built around the theme of YSL's creations for youngsters.

The film 'Yves Saint Laurent- Pierre Bergé, L'amour Fou', written and directed by Pierre Thoretton will be released in cinemas on September 29th, 2010.

 

On Indian cultural scene, Kathak is on the forefront this month as the Maharaj family brings Kathak of the Maharaj at the Museum Guimet with Jaikishan Maharaj, Deepak Maharaj and the illustrious French kathak exponent Isabelle Anna. Bollywood quotient is provided by the Association Bolly Deewani that is presenting Bangalore based dancer Arun Kumar for courses and a show.

 

 Anil- Atelier For the gourmet and the gourmands, flag bearer of Indian Gastronomy Anil Abhimanyu Sharma is back this month with 3 workshops- - Perfumes of Jaipur, Dinner with Friends and Special Indian Gastronomy. Those interested in Japanese Cuisine can participate in free conference Soul of the Japanese Cuisine by Chef Yoshihiro Murata. French federation of Amateur Cooking and the city of Paris offer free lessons in Paris markets throughout the year. Get details

 

March first week presents the last few days of the exhibition Voyage in India. Another exhibition Other Masters of India will start at month end giving an insight into the adivasis of India. There are conferences on Discovery of an Indophile French Couple and Indian Enterprises in Debate. Author Ruth Van der Molen of  «l’Inde avant l’Inde » and « Murmures de Déesses » will sign her books

 

The month is loaded with trade fairs disembarking in the city- hugely popular International Agricultural trade fair, Global Tourism, Trade fair of future parents and the child, Living differently- presenting various aspects of healthy and natural living and finally the Paris Book Fair.Two exhibitions are coming to an end this month- Paris Buildings 1948-2009 exhibition on architectural excellence of buildings and Inundated Paris of 1910 exhibition on the spectacular Parisian inundation after its 100 years. Other exhibitions that continue are Paris- Radiating City exhibition on relics, edifices and archeological findings of 13th century till date, Turner and his painters exhibition on British artist J.M.W. Turner's works and his inspirations. The Way of Tao will start this month end.
