Articles such as coffee, tea, cocoa, sugar, rice, spices, chocolate etc. have contributed to the awareness and growing popularity of fair trade products. These are also the most visible among the lot at most of the mass retailers such as Carrefour, Hyper U, Cora, Auchan, Monoprix, E. Leclerc etc.

However, there is a whole range of products available, outside the conventional, such as cotton and woollen clothes, carpets, cushions, toys, furniture, decorative items, beauty and body care, and even services such as tourism. The binding cause for these different products is the commitment on part of the distributor or retailer to the equity of trade, respect for man and origin of products, their right value for the artisans and producers and sustainable, long term partnerships. Some of these French organisations take their role beyond the natural call of fair trade to engage themselves in community development projects in the country of origin of products.

Fair trade products that are not mass marketed are available through on line boutiques or showrooms of specialised fair trade French organisations/ resellers addresses of which are given below in an alphabetical order*.
