Exhibition Rabindranath Tagore- the last harvest
One year after the 150th birth anniversary of Indian artist Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), the Petit Palais will put 85 of his paintings on paper up for the public exhibition.
Rabindranath Tagore is particularly known as novelist, playwright, composer and Nobel prize laureate of 1913. But, during the last years of his life, he turned to painting. Eclectic, multiple and abounding, his works, notably his paintings constitute a vital link between India and rest of the world. Tagore addresses and inspires the entire world and more so the most modern Indian artists of current time through his literature, his theatrical and musical creations and canvasses inspired by a strong humanist current.

Exposition Rabindranath Tagore- le dernier moisson
Un an après le 150 éme anniversaire de la naissance de l’artiste indien Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), le Petit Palais va faire découvrir au public environ 85 de ses peintures sur papier.
Rabindranath Tagore est surtout connu comme romancier, dramaturge, compositeur et prix Nobel de littérature en 1913. Mais, il fut aussi vers la fin de sa vie un peintre au talent étonnant.
Eclectique, foisonnante, multiple, son œuvre et notamment ses peintures constituent un lien artistique vital entre l’Inde et le reste du monde. A travers sa littérature, ses créations théâtrales et musicales, ses tableaux inspirés par un profond courant humaniste, Tagore s’adresse au monde entier et inspire encore aujourd’hui les artistes les plus modernes d’Inde.
