Saketharaman is greatly admired by the connoisseurs of carnatic singing , the main musical expression in Southern India. a disciple of the prominent violinistLalgudi Jayaraman, he won at the age of 15 the First Prize of the 2000 All India Radio singing contest and in 2005 in Madras he was awarded the Music Academy prize for the Best Under Twenty-Five Singer. His mastery of an eminently classical style and his maturity recall the singers of yore and make him one of the most promising vocal talents.- Christian Ledoux

Un Espoir du Chant Carnatique
Saketharaman fait l’admiration des aficionados du chant carnatique, expression principale de la musique du Sud. Disciple du grand violoniste Lalgudi Jayaraman, il remporte à quinze ans le Premier Prix du concours de chant de All India Radio décerné pour l’an 2000 et reçoit en 2005 à Madras le Prix de la Music Academy du Meilleur Chanteur de moins de vingt-cinq ans. La solidité de son style éminemment classique et sa maturité qui rappellent les chanteurs d’antan en font l’un des interprètes qui compteront à l’avenir. - Christian Ledoux
